About Watford House
Watford House was constructed around the turn of the 18th century, from local stone and is situated in 2 acres of landscaped gardens. The house is situated on the edge of the Peak District, on the outskirts of New Mills, Marple Bridge and Mellor, in a quiet residential area within easy reach of the centres.
The accommodation consists of single and companion rooms, many with en-suite facilities, fitted with aerial points, nurse call system and are fully furnished. Provision is also made for residents who bring their own furniture and other personal possessions if they so wish. Two rooms, with en-suite facilities have been specifically designed for wheel chair users.
There are a full range of bathroom facilities to make bathing not only possible but also pleasurable for even the most severly disabled.
Care is provided by our specially selected team of staff, who encourage and support all residents to care for themselves as fro as they are physically and mentally able and williong to do so.
Long term care, respite care and short stay care is available for both nursing and residential clients. A care package can be tailored to the individuals needs - this may incorporate an element of care at home.
A well balanced diet is provided with the emphasis on home cooking using local produce. There are choices for all meals and special diets are catered for.
A varied recreation programme is provided for those wishing to take part and there are regular excursions to places of interest.
 
Philosophy of Care
We aim to provide a high standard of residential care to all clients. recognising the individual's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Emphasis is placed on the maintenance of independance to whatever degree is appropriate to the individual.
There are few restrictions, if any at Watford House and residents are encouraged to explore and avenue to their full potential.
Before making your decision you will be encouraged to come and spend some time at Watford House to look around and sample the care provided.
Visiting by friends and relatives is unrestricted
A Care Manager, where possible, will visit you in your own home or if necessary in hospital to discuss your requirements.
In cicumstances where funding is difficult assisstance can be obtained from the various State Benefits.
